Hello, and thanks for taking the time to read my blog. I’m an English teacher currently living and teaching in Manchester in the UK. I teach adults with many different nationalities, and personalities, and I love my job.
I have been working as an English teacher since September 2011. I started teaching English in a city called Arequipa which is in Peru. I took my CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) qualification in Ecuador and I awarded a Pass A, the highest grade attainable.
Before teaching to Peru I worked at Bradford College, in the north of England, as a learning assistant for people with autistic spectrum disorders and other learning disabilities, for two years. I also worked part-time as a Youth Worker in my home town of Keighley at the Wednesday Leisure Club, Haworth Youth Club, Silsden S-Zone and Addingham Duke of Edinburgh Centre.
I have decided to start blogging because I think it’s important for my own professional development to share and discuss with other educators what works well for me, and what I think I can improve on, as a new teacher.
